-
Section 44 of the Mental Health Act 2007 came into force on 30 April
2008. It allows a person who has been detained under Section 135 and 136
of the Mental Health Act 1983 to be taken from one place of safety to
one or more other places of safety during the 72 hour maximum overall
period during which they may be detained. This document provides
guidance to workers on transfers between places of safety.

of the largest ever survey
of the lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) community carried
out in Britain. Issues including psychological wellbeing,

predictors for mental health problems among the LGB

2002, finds that young offenders are three times as
likely to have a mental health problem as other young

Accreditation Of Providers Of Supporting
People Services
Under Supporting
People all organisations which wish to be contracted to
provide services must be accredited. Initially all
providers will be given an interim accreditation, but an
assessment of whether an organisation can be fully
accredited will commence when the organisation's first
service review commences. This ODPM document

representing the views of 52 homeless people from across England. The
