Skills in Managing Change

Change is constant, change is good, evolve and deliver services which are responsive to changing need or wither and die. Conversely, too much change is bad, we need a sense of stability and routine to stay focused and effective. Contradictory, maybe? But such thinking misses the point, how much change, or if it is good or bad is almost irrelevant, what matters is ensuring change is responsive, controlled, well managed.

To manage change effectively you need to develop the skills and attitudes that will make a difference to you and your organisation. This course covers change management principles, practices, and techniques to ensure change is implemented is successful and well managed.


Who will benefit from this course,

This course will benefit managers or anybody who is responsible for planning and/or implementing change in organisations.


Objectives

By the end of the course participants will be able to;

• Identify reasons that prompt change.
• Identify and plan activities, resources and timescale to achieve change.
• Plan communication and involvement to facilitate effective change.
• Explain the consequences for organizations to maintain the status quo.
• Recognise ways of managing people through the 5 stages of change.
• Understand the main barriers to change and know a range of strategies to overcome these barriers.
• Be more confident working with strong feelings.
• Produced a personal action plan to use the learning from the course.
