As the work of supported housing staff has become more complex and accountable the need to maintain thorough, accurate and useable written records has become more important.
We all use a range of written information about:-
- Clients
- Communicating within the team
- Procedures e.g. support plans, risk assessments, etc
This course is aimed at social care staff who need to write, use and manage written information.
It will equip participants with confidence and skills so that they can keep fair and accurate records, respect confidentiality, comply with the Data Protection Act and the Supporting People QAF standards.
By the end of this course participants will:
• Know the requirements of Supporting People QAF with regards to recording information
• Understand the importance of confidentiality
• Know the legal framework relevant to written information.
• Have considered guidelines on style, content and clarity of information
• Have applied their learning to a range of common social care recording needs such as note taking, assessments and support plans.
• Be able to write SMART objectives with confidence.
• Have considered the use of appropriate language and phrasing.
• Have examined a range of options to properly manage and record information
