Presentation Skills
This is a practical hands-on course for those wanting to improve and develop their presentation skills. There are many reasons why you might want to improve and practise your skills: you might need to make a presentation to funders or partners, to present at a conference, training course or AGM, or you might have a difficult interview or team meeting where you want to present a strong case.
The skills learned in this workshop will apply to a whole range of circumstances: whether you are talking informally or formally, to people you know or people you have not met before, to individuals, small or large groups. The course will be practical in nature and will focus on the individual goals and contexts of those attending. Participants will be encouraged to construct and try out real presentations.
This is a two-day course with a week between workshops.
Day one:
This workshop will explore a range of skills for planning, structuring and delivering presentations. In a safe and supportive group environment you will have the opportunity to try out techniques that will enable you to plan your presentation effectively and get your message across clearly and confidently.
In the week between workshops, participants will prepare a short presentation to deliver to the group on day two. Presentations will be filmed so that participants can see themselves in action and make adjustments accordingly.
Day two:
This workshop gives you the opportunity to deliver your presentations to the group and to enjoy other people’s presentations. There will be constructive feedback to help everyone polish their performance and go away with new-found skills and confidence.
