Equality & Diversity - for Frontline Wor

This one day course gives an overview of the main issues most of us need to be aware of with regard to this vast topic. It deals with the issues in a straightforward and non jargonistic manner and aims to promote honest discussion so we can all learn from each other.

The new Equality Act 2010 was passed in April and will (probably) start to come into force from September. Whilst the main focus of this course is not on detailed legislation, it will be useful for all to consider the changes that this new law brings about, and how we might need to prepare for them.

Course Aim

To enhance participant knowledge and understanding of equality issues and their confidence in dealing with diverse colleagues and customers.

Course Content Includes

• An overview of the new Equality Act 2010 (which comes into force later this year), consideration of the major changes this creates and, the potential significance for participants
• What impact can discrimination and prejudice have on individuals and groups?
• How can we recognise our own prejudices and question them effectively?
• How can we best challenge inappropriate language or behaviour in others?
