Developing & Managing Partnerships
Developing and managing partnerships has always been an important part of social care, and with the development of the updated QAF, and national performance indicators the need to develop and maintain successful partnership has never been more important. However many organisations and individuals struggle to develop and maintain partnership working resulting in poor outcomes for clients, as well as resentment and mistrust between staff, managers and organizations. This course will give participants the skills and confidence to develop and maintain existing or new partnerships.
Course Aim
How to initiate, develop and sustain partnerships that benefit our clients, our organisations and each other.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course participants will:
• Understand the key social care standards and expectations relevant to partnership working.
• Know the spectrum of joint/partnership working activity
• Be able to appraise the appropriateness of current and future partnerships.
• Understand the phases and dimensions of partnerships
• Be aware of the common barriers to partnership working, and know strategies for overcoming them
• Be able to enter into formal partnership agreements that acknowledge and meet the needs and expectations of all the partners
• Be able to exchange information in a manner that satisfies the needs of clients, business confidentiality and the data protection act
• Have made an action plan
