Are you a Third Sector organisation involved in the delivery of health, wellbeing or social care services in Nottingham City?

You may be a ‘not for profit’ or charitable organisation? Perhaps you’re a social enterprise or community interest company? If so, Nottingham City Council would like to invite you to an event to launch the ‘Health and Wellbeing Board’s Third Sector Provider Forum’. This free half day event takes place on Wednesday 22nd February 2012.

So what is the Health and Wellbeing Board’s Third Sector Provider Forum?

The Health and Social Care Bill was introduced into Parliament on 19th January 2011 and is currently at the Committee Stage in the House of Lords. The Bill is a crucial part of the Government’s vision to modernise the NHS so that it is built around patients, led by health professionals, and focused on delivering world-class healthcare outcomes. The Bill places a duty on Local Authorities to establish, lead and manage a new Health and Wellbeing Board; this will be a statutory duty from April 2013.

Nottingham City’s Health and Wellbeing Board was established in September 2011 and along side the statutory membership, they have included providers and key strategic partners, so as to ensure the widest involvement in developing health and wellbeing strategies across the city.

This new Provider Forum is being developed firstly to ensure that the Third Sector has a robust mechanism for representation on the Health and Wellbeing Board, and secondly to support the sustainability and growth of the Sector.

This event invites representatives from all interested organisations to come together to:

 Find out about the work of the Health and Wellbeing Board and local health strategies and policies.

 Agree the mechanism for Third Sector provider representation on the Health and Wellbeing Board.

 Establish an ongoing Providers Forum.

This half day event will be held on Wednesday 22nd February 2012 with registration at 12.30pm (tea and coffee on arrival) and will finish at 4.00pm. It will take place at The ICCA, 99 Hucknall Road, Carrington, Nottingham NG5 1QZ.
