Step by Step Guide To Taking Part in Derbyshire Homeless Watch 2010
1. Print off the
invitation to participate in Homeless Watch which contains a reply slip. Fill out your details and return
your completed reply slip to HLG to confirm your participation. It is important that we have your contact details to ensure you are kept updated with news and information relating to Homeless Watch. You can return your reply slip

2. Print off a copy of the
survey form. This is the form that you will be required to fill out everytime a person presents to your organisation as homeless during the survey period. Please print off a
set of guidelines to help you complete the form correctly.
3. Make sufficient copies of the survey form and guidelines ready for staff to complete from day one of the two week survey period - Monday 27th September 2010 - Sunday 10th October 2010.
4. During the survey period, please complete a survey form for each homeless person that contacts your organisation during the snapshot survey fortnight. Each form should take no more than a couple of minutes to complete. Where possible it is advised that staff complete the form with the person who is presenting as homeless.
5. The survey period ends on Sunday 10th October. Please return all completed survey forms by Friday 15th October to: Derbyshire Homeless Watch, HLG, 21 Clarendon Street, Nottingham, NG1 5HR. If you do not have a large number of forms to return you can fax them on 0115 9565314 to Sarah Holden. The data from the forms you send us will be inputted into a database and a Homeless Watch report will be produced based on this data . The report will be published and made available on HLGs Website in April 2011.
6. If no homeless people were seen by your organisation during the survey period - we still want to know this. Please print off a copy of the survey form, enter your organisation's name and address at the top of the form, and then write 'NIL RETURN' across the form. This is important because this means that although you saw no homeless people - you will still be recorded in the final report as participating in the survey.
