Planning for Strong Services and a Strong Future |
Recent years have witnessed a radical shift in the provision of supported housing services. The profile of service users has changed dramatically, and the way we deliver services have and evolving very quickly, all this brings new expectations and needs. The demands of Supporting People and the need to account for our activity through the outcomes we deliver depends on the skills, leadership and vision of managers. This course will provide an interactive, challenging but supportive opportunity to take stock of these changes and look at practical solutions to the challenges we face.
Who should attend?
Supported housing managers, deputy managers, or senior workers including providers of Hostel services, Move On Accommodation, Floating support and Day Centers
Course Aims
This course will give participants an opportunity to reflect on their roles as managers and leaders. Participants will be able to learn from peers and from innovation and good practice approaches. Participants will deepen their understanding of the forces that shape their daily work and will be able to build on their capacity to meet the challenges of their role.
Course objectives
By the end of the course participants will know about or have increased their understanding of;

· What it means to be a manager in your service.
· Culture, conflict and change
· Balancing the interests of your team, your service users, your organisation, your funders, the local community and yourself
· The challenges of developing a personalised service, based on offering choice and empowering service users.
· How to demonstrating the full outcome of all their hard work.
